Views of Tufts [refresh photo]

In 1860, Tufts students chose brown and blue as the school colors, with blue representing a compromise amid debate about using white or gold, as well. The Trustees, however, did not officially recognize the colors until a century later. The first yearbook in 1876 used the chocolate brown and sky blue that signify Tufts today.
