Tufts' Maren Siedler was one of the best shot putters in track and field history. She won 23 national titles from 1967-80 and was a member of Olympic teams in 1968, 1972, 1976 and 1980. She set American records in the shot put 16 times and was the first American to break 60 feet." Sielder was inducted into the Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2000.
